In Honor - a Sept. 11th Tribute

 With less than a week the truck is almost complete.  Looking forward to getting it back.  Anniversary approaching fast.  Keep those lost in your hearts and prayers. Also say a Thank you next time you see a policeman fireman or soldier.

With the help of Jaime at www.customonlinesigns.com  I have slightly changed the design.   Originally I was going to Airbrush a black strip 4" heigh by 54" wide with white lettering "9.11.01 We Will Never Forget."

 As I researched Reflective white lettering in an attempt to make this more noticable during evening hours I contacted numerous companies.  Some were not so responsive, others were in my opinion unprofessional, but Jaime was not only very patient but very helpful.

 I am now using a Black refelctive stripe with white reflective lettering.. they will shine Gold Silver at night.  Fire department wears Gold Badges and the police wears Silver badges so this is a fitting design and compliments the vehicle.  the newer design increased the cost by almost 40% but worth every penny.  $57 for a design that will compliment the vehicle and from a company that worked well with me to make this happen in a timely manner.

  Also Robyn from Vinyl-decals.com contacted me today advising the decals for the patch airbrushing is being printed and will ship tomorrow.  Robyn Donated her Time and Materials towards this project.  I Did consider her company for the reflective striping but had a couple of Companies that the Fire Departments around the US use for their lettering.  This is the only reason why I chose and outside company.

I will be buying decals from Robyn in the future for the rear windows which will have decals on them.

The airbrushing should be well underway by now.  I am not getting updates at my request.  I want to be just as shocked suprised and awed as everyone that sees this truck.

After 4 long years of Copyright requests, denials, design changes.  After 4 long years of trying to find the vehicle for this with one setback after another this project has reached the beginning stages of the artwork.

  The truck is in for the Painting to begin.  With some luck, faith and hope this truck will roll out of the shop by Early August ready to stop traffic.

I am hoping that this will serve as a constant reminder to those around it that 9/11/01 will NEver be forgetton and they shouldn't forget it.

  Let's hope for the best.

Daily Update:

 With the project moving forward at a great rate I ap preparing for the final stages prior to painting.  I am assembling all of the Artwork,  Copyright permissions on the protected artwork, and assembling the pictures needed for the custom artwork.

  It is with Great anticipation and anxiety I await the coming day that the artwork / airbrushing will begin. 

 This years 9/11 Hike in Farmington will be even better this year with the completion of the Artwork portion of this project.
